A Little On All Fronts

So today I got a call from a former co-worker who also is a stay-at-home Dad. He invited me to something next week for SAHDs. (I just realized what an awful acronym that is). So I'm pretty hyped about that. It will be fun to have a reason to get out of the house with Henry . I have met my friends boy a couple times and it will be fun to see him seeing as how it's been awhile. I'll write more about it later.

In Cub news there is not much. Kerry Wood has been signed for one year for over 4 million. It's a little much for him I think. Especially when you notice that he pitched only 22 times last season. But I also have that soft spot for him that I think a lot of Cubs fans have. Also weird about his contract is that it implies that he might be the Cubs closer next season. I know many people would like to see Marmol there but I have to disagree with that thinking. Wood might be the perfect closer. He's got the experience and age to handle the role whereas Marmol is a little young; plus I like seeing him eat up a couple innings instead of being regulated to just one inning if the Cubs are in a save situation. Which frankly how many times did we see that last season? And why would we let Marmol's psyche get handled so early? I think it's a perfect slot for the Woodster (sorry) to shine and let Marmol get some experience in the bullpen.
